Thanks to the Initiative Project and the team of the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) we had the wonderful opportunity to meet some of the most active and cause-oriented people in Bulgaria. The topic of violence in its various forms is unfortunately on the agenda. We are grateful that today we can tell you about the people who are the first on the ground to react and provide the necessary support to those in a difficult situation.

Ivaylo Yabulkarov from the town of Stara Zagora is one of the 60 young people who went through the second edition of the trainings of WCIF Initiative. For the past almost five years he has been the head of a team of social workers and psychologists at the "Mission Wings" Foundation who deal with various vulnerable people and families.

The Foundation works with children at risk, with parents who want to have back their children who are no longer with them for one reason or another, with parents who have difficulties in caring for their children, with prospective adoptive parents, with foster families, with interns. At the same time, they have projects related to support for victims of violence, including when it comes to children, helping victims to recover, to retrain, to start a new job.

The efforts that the people at the Foundation make require a lot of time, patience, months of meetings, conversations and important decisions. Ivaylo says that participating in the Initiative gives him additional hope and meaning not to give up. Meeting good examples of people from CSOs from all over the country is one of the biggest benefits that he himself reports after participating in the training.
