The first edition of the Initiative for Building the Future Generation of Civic Leaders of the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation officially ended today with a final meeting of the participants in the Initiative. The meeting took place in a shared workspace in Sofia, with the aim to take stock of what has been achieved over the last two years. The meeting was moderated by the Program Director of WCIF - Monika Pisankaneva, together with Reneta Kutsarova, Communications Manager at the Foundation.
At the beginning of the meeting Monika gave a short summary presentation, highlighting the main results of the trainings, the benefits and difficulties, as well as the results achieved. Participants also shared their impressions. They noted that especially useful and inspiring were the organized meetings with mentors, as well as the opportunity to find new partners among representatives of other organizations participating in the project.
Another highlight of the final meeting was the formation of the Alumni Club. The idea of this was conceived as an opportunity for the graduates of the programme to continue to keep in touch with each other and work together on topics of mutual interest. The structure of the club itself, the frequency and manner of the meetings, the coordinating unit, the topics of work were defined by the participants during the working groups held today. Concrete ideas were shared and next steps for building the club were identified.
Finally, the participants expressed their gratitude for the chance to be involved in the project, as well as for the good acquaintances and new opportunities.
