Public communication and the ability to speak with the media are crucial for people in civil organizations, especially now, when the non-governmental sector is one of the most vulnerable targets of disinformation and fake news. That's why we decided to introduce the topic to the participants in the "Initiative" project and provide them with basic skills to counter unexpected situations that require timely and adequate communication.

The topic of the ninth online meeting of the "Initiative" was "Crisis Communication." One of the best communication experts in Bulgaria, Lyubomir Alamanov, met with the participants to share his experience from his many years of practice. Lyubo is a managing partner in SiteMedia Consultancy, an agency for classical and innovative communication services. He is the recipient of several international awards and is also one of the founders of the Bulgarian Association of PR agencies and its first chairman.

During the hour, the guest lecturer explained the theory of crisis communication, analyzed crisis prevention from the perspective of his accumulated experience, gave examples of responding to unexpected situations. In addition, he presented the working tools for dealing with crises and overcoming escalation.

This was the last training for the year. Project activities will continue in 2023.
