On October 8th, a new Webinar was held at the Initiative. The topic "Giving Circles" was presented by Monika Pisankaneva - Program Director at the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF).
The webinar presented a model of individual donation, tested by WCIF in different cities in the country, called "giving circle". With the help of local host organizations, giving circles raise funds for local NGO projects. The model has been developing steadily in Stara Zagora, Sliven, Varna and Gabrovo. Over 200 local NGO projects have been supported in the last 5 years by local donors with a total amount of over BGN 2 million.
The training is part of the project "Initiative for Building the Future Generation of Civic Leaders" of Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF). The project is implemented with the financial support of the Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) 2014-2021, funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
