In early March, the second training webinar for participants in the Initiative* was held. The topic of the meeting was "Leadership and Management of NGOs" and the lecturer was Krasimira Velichkova, former executive director of the Bulgarian Donors' Forum with many years of experience in the non-governmental sector and currently an advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Kalina Konstantinova on civil society development issues.
One of the focuses of the training was the discussion of the "Standards for Good Governance of NGOs" created by the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation. Participants were tasked with reviewing the Standards after the meeting and considering which ones they find challenging to implement in their organizations in case they don't apply some of the Standards.
*The training is part of the second edition of the "Initiative for Building the Next Generation of Civic Leaders" project by Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation. It is funded by the Active Citizens Fund Bulgaria under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) 2014-2021, provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. The project aims to support the development of a new generation of civil leaders in Bulgaria who have the knowledge and skills to work effectively in a shrinking space for civil society and limited resources.
